After deciding to change my plan for my poster, I wanted to look at movies using the computer animated style on posters. Not looking at the movies themselves but the way the picture animation. Looking at the posters with the human figures on them, I like the way there is still detail within their faces, so the audience can still see what chacter is who and how the associate the film (through the characters look) to the poster.
The similarities between each poster is very similar as they base their colour scheme of one or two basic colours, mostly seen in these pictures is red. I want to experiment with this idea and see if I want to base it on one colour or break the stereotypical idea and use more colours.
Again I have continued editing my poster, combining the images that I have edited with the ‘Cutout’ filter. Making layers on Photoshop to add images I was able to finish my collage and have the foreground for my poster. After that I added the writing for the poster, using ‘Lucida Handwriting’ for the Title. I also used ‘Lucida Sans Unicode’ for the poster credits to and shrank the lettering to 9.5 size. I then added the movie award template and the stars, using the duplicate tool to create the same size awards. This allowed me to finished the poster. Here is the editing process throughout:
After looking up posters and seeing the way movies with similar genres have taken the idea of the extreme close up of the eyes. I made a quick mock up of what the poster will look like, using my own pictures and editing them via photoshop to add that bright effect that w are continually throughout the limbo. I like this poster mock up as theres the eye closeness and detail that draws the audience in.
I want to make more mock ups, showing more ways to make the poster and whats the best idea for my poster.
When looking at posters, there are a range of ideas for posters I could go down that have the aspect of Limbo and memories. Because our genre is a mix between Indie and Romance, this allows me to mix between the genres and create my own representation of my short story through my poster.
Here is a few movie posters that I found had the same/similar genres to my short film:
