Yesterday we filmed the remaining shots within limbo, as well as the last memory (the gaming shot). This has allowed us to finish off the coursework editing.
As well as filming the scenes, we had to make props (such as blood) to help with the scene of our main character coming out of his memories into reality. We had to get caster sugar, food colouring and a drop of water. as blood is very thick and dark we had to use a lot of blood and food colouring, red and black, to make more of a realistic effect on the camera.
Though the cuts on the actors face aren’t realistic, we made a thick blood liquid that we placed onto the actors face.
Here is some of the evidence shots:
While doing filming I individually got both my acts to pose for my ancillary poster so that I could have the images which’ll allow me to work and finish of my final draft for my poster. These are the images I took, I will go through them all and find two that I like the most.
These are two drafts that I made, looking at the design for my poster. Though I like the use of the font, i don’t think it works well with the design making it look too abstract so I will have to think more in depth about the font and the way I position the title. I need to get the actual pictures of the actors so I can get a more clear image of how my poster is going to look.
I prefer the second draft as it looks more professional and designed with the poster writing at the bottom.
When thinking about the layout for my poster, I start to edit the example pictures to the format which is my final choice for my poster design. With the inspiration of Passengers, this is my first draft of what my movie poster will look like.
Looking at this poster, I like the format which has been used. The title works, but as this is my first draft I want to change a couple of things to make it more natural.
After looking up posters and seeing the way movies with similar genres have taken the idea of the extreme close up of the eyes. I made a quick mock up of what the poster will look like, using my own pictures and editing them via photoshop to add that bright effect that w are continually throughout the limbo. I like this poster mock up as theres the eye closeness and detail that draws the audience in.
I want to make more mock ups, showing more ways to make the poster and whats the best idea for my poster.
When looking at posters, I cam across this picture of the new up coming Passengers movie and found it was very similar to my idea, which game me inspiration to look more at more than one face for my poster, having the girlfriends face on the poster. This will add the the idea of romance within our genre. Where there is the close up of the faces, i will look at the faces and the set behind the faces, how close they will be and the editing going on them.
