After deciding to change my plan for my poster, I wanted to look at movies using the computer animated style on posters. Not looking at the movies themselves but the way the picture animation. Looking at the posters with the human figures on them, I like the way there is still detail within their faces, so the audience can still see what chacter is who and how the associate the film (through the characters look) to the poster.
The similarities between each poster is very similar as they base their colour scheme of one or two basic colours, mostly seen in these pictures is red. I want to experiment with this idea and see if I want to base it on one colour or break the stereotypical idea and use more colours.
I have finally finished my Poster for my short film. This is the final piece, which includes the memories that the main character ‘Isaac’ goes through within the short film. I wanted to show the memories of Isaac’s for advertisement to show the viewers a slight focus on what the short film will be about. But then not giving away the ending. The picture on top of Isaac in Limbo also gives a hint to the narrative but doesn’t entirely give the movie short film away.
Again I have continued editing my poster, combining the images that I have edited with the ‘Cutout’ filter. Making layers on Photoshop to add images I was able to finish my collage and have the foreground for my poster. After that I added the writing for the poster, using ‘Lucida Handwriting’ for the Title. I also used ‘Lucida Sans Unicode’ for the poster credits to and shrank the lettering to 9.5 size. I then added the movie award template and the stars, using the duplicate tool to create the same size awards. This allowed me to finished the poster. Here is the editing process throughout:
When looking at my new idea for what I plan to do for my poster, i decided to make a layout of the way the poster will look. Seeing a generic design and going from there. Though the image doesn’t show the actual images, I plan to use the Photoshop filter Artistic Cutout to get a animated, drawn like affect, to make the images more interesting.
When looking at what I want for my ancillary 2 work, I experimented with different types of photos I plan to use for my photo at the top. Looking at my short film, i took screenshots of my short film and looked at what suited my magazine cover. I found a picture which suited my bright limbo theme; the image I enhanced with Photoshop.
While editing my poster, I screen shot some of my progress to show how I am editing, using Photoshop and the filter ‘Cutout’ to create the cartoon-ish effect. I used screenshots from the filming to create a montage of memories. I chose to only focus on the memories as it would juxtapose the magazine double page spread I am making.
