I have finally finished my Poster for my short film. This is the final piece, which includes the memories that the main character ‘Isaac’ goes through within the short film. I wanted to show the memories of Isaac’s for advertisement to show the viewers a slight focus on what the short film will be about. But then not giving away the ending. The picture on top of Isaac in Limbo also gives a hint to the narrative but doesn’t entirely give the movie short film away.
Again I have continued editing my poster, combining the images that I have edited with the ‘Cutout’ filter. Making layers on Photoshop to add images I was able to finish my collage and have the foreground for my poster. After that I added the writing for the poster, using ‘Lucida Handwriting’ for the Title. I also used ‘Lucida Sans Unicode’ for the poster credits to and shrank the lettering to 9.5 size. I then added the movie award template and the stars, using the duplicate tool to create the same size awards. This allowed me to finished the poster. Here is the editing process throughout:
When looking at my new idea for what I plan to do for my poster, i decided to make a layout of the way the poster will look. Seeing a generic design and going from there. Though the image doesn’t show the actual images, I plan to use the Photoshop filter Artistic Cutout to get a animated, drawn like affect, to make the images more interesting.
While editing my poster, I screen shot some of my progress to show how I am editing, using Photoshop and the filter ‘Cutout’ to create the cartoon-ish effect. I used screenshots from the filming to create a montage of memories. I chose to only focus on the memories as it would juxtapose the magazine double page spread I am making.
When looking at photos I plan to use for my poster, I have decided to change my poster poster idea, looking more in depth about the memory theme and how i can incorporate it into my work. Experimenting with Photoshop I looked at different filters for one of my memories. I plan to make a lay out on how I want to make my new poster idea.
While doing filming I individually got both my acts to pose for my ancillary poster so that I could have the images which’ll allow me to work and finish of my final draft for my poster. These are the images I took, I will go through them all and find two that I like the most.
These are two drafts that I made, looking at the design for my poster. Though I like the use of the font, i don’t think it works well with the design making it look too abstract so I will have to think more in depth about the font and the way I position the title. I need to get the actual pictures of the actors so I can get a more clear image of how my poster is going to look.
I prefer the second draft as it looks more professional and designed with the poster writing at the bottom.
